Information on Learning with technology
and leaning toward distance ed. in General:

University's RIDE (Resources in Distance Education). An extensive site
with resources covering theory and practice, issues, organizations, etc.

The University
of Alberta's Academic Technologies for Learning site. Links to information
about designing courses utilizing technology, distance education links,
and resources and forums on the site.

Distance Education and
Technology from the University of British Columbia's Continuing Studies.
This site provides examples of various technologies that can be used to
deliver courses over the internet.

Distance Education Clearinghouse
of the University of Wisconsin, Extension. Basic page of links
to resources, definitions, headlines, and trends. Has a short section on
"technologies" that might be useful for us as we consider the technologies
we want to employ for this project.

Maricopa Center for Learning
and Instruction. Initiatives in the use and assessment of learning
technologies. Useful site and definitely attemps to pursue technology use
in a responsible fashion.

Community College Hartford, Connecticut. Another basic
resource site with extensive listings for online journals and information
about distance education.

DIAL: The New School's Distance
Instruction for Adult Learners. They don't have any technical
or business writing courses, but in terms of a distance education program,
this site is very attractive and interesting. So i thought i'd put it here.

CC Business Communications Course online: syllabus only.

MindEdge: Lists courses available
online. Do a search under business for business writing courses. This site
is interesting because all the courses are from various institutions, but
mindedge maintains descriptions and registrations and all that on their
site. So, they've got all the information housed on their site and you
have to really really try to get to the actual institution that offers
the course.

for courses for "those who wish to pursue a career in business writing.
Useful place to get directly to some courses... like those listed next...

The Business Writing Center.
A for profit site with courses in all aspects in business writing. Serves
students and serves companies directly with seminars and workshops. You
can get syllabi (or course overviews) but not the actual course materials.
Here's the basic structure of the timeline: "13 lessons, approximately
32 hours of study. All lessons must be completed within six months."

Instructional Solutions
Online. Online business writing courses customized for specific
companies. Courses include: "Effective Business Writing Techniques, Proofreading
Techniques for Business Writers, Sales Letters and Sales Proposals, Effective
Memo Writing, Researching and Writing Business, Reports, Business Letter
Writing, Coming soon: Energize Your E-mail." Again, you can get to
descriptions, but that's about it.

This site's index page boasts an article on "Egreed is good..." The educational
opportunities are mostly short course, quick answers to business issues,
etc.

No business writing courses listed, however does offer links to textbooks
